1. Can the letters fit on any grill?                Back to To

The branding letters have been designed to fit on most grills.  The product is not adjustable.  It is constructed of solid cast iron to aid in the heat transfer.  It has been designed with a two (2) inch width which will fit most barbeques.  Its is designed to fit on all grills, however it is not adjustable because it is made out of steel. This design fits all the grills that during the design stages.

2. What if my letters do not fit my grill?      Back to Top

In the event that the branding letters do not fit the gap on your grill, lay the letters on  the gap between the grill sections on your barbeque.  At this point the grill sections can be moved slightly.wpc012b6e0_0f.jpg

3. Is it difficult to brand the meat.                 Back to Top

No, searing the meat with the branding letters is very simple.  However, there are several steps to insure a good brand on your steak.

     - Remember, the letters need to be backwards.  Use a mirror if you need to be sure.

     - Place the letters on the grill  before the grill is hot.

     - If you have already heated the grill, use tongs and proper protection against burns.

     - Heat the cast iron branding letters well before applying the food.

     - Leave the food on long enough to be sure the searing is complete.

    - Once the food is branded, don’t turn the branded surface over onto the grill again, unless

The meat can be cooked on the letters just as you would cook it on one side.

It can be placed on the letters first, or after one side of the meat has been grilled.

As with anything, experience is the best teacher.  Throw on some burgers a few days before the “Big Party”  and experiment.

4. Are their techniques for searing the meat properly.             Back to Top

Yes...   The branding letters must be hot before applying the food, and the food needs to remain on the letters long enough for good branding to occur.

Frozen meat can remove the heat quickly from the branding letters.  Leave it on the letters a bit longer to allow the letters to “re-heat” to the branding temperature.  But don’t overcook the meat.

If using a charcoal or wood barbeque, place the letters down before you start the fire.   When the conditions are idea for you to grill your letters will be ready also.

5. How long a name can you put on a steak?                        Back to Top

You can put on as many letters as can fit on the surface of the meat.  How big a steak do you want to serve your guests?

6. What kind of food items can you brand names on?                 Back to Top

Steaks, Burgers (Beef or any other kind), Chicken, Pineapple, just to name a few.

Potatoes can be branded, but the flat surface is best.  So bake them, split them and brand them.

Fish can be branded, but is easily broken., as it often is at any grilling.

The variety is up to your creativity.  Want to see some Pictures?  Click here to go to the gallery.

7. Can I brand indoors in my oven?                    Back to Top

Yes, the branding letters can be used in a standard oven.   Hang the letters on the grill in the oven, heat it to 400 or more.  The meat will need to be placed directly on the oven grill.  Be sure to put a pan on the second shelf underneath the meat and then meat can be branded indoors also.  Do not leave the oven unattended.

8. How is Brand by Name different than a branding Iron?           Back to Top

Both are similar in that they both seer the meet with letters.  However, that is where the similarity ends.  Long branding irons are cumbersome while grilling.  You must remove the grill to get the irons near the heat.  Also the letters are not interchangeable.   Brand by Name allows you to have numerous combinations of letters and even spell out names.  The letters can be hotter than the grill, since they draw heat from below the grill.
